While You're Away, My Heart Comes Undone... Neshat & Arsam

Neshat & Arsam were married in the mids of February in a truly Persian ceremony at the Penns Landing Hyatt. There was Sofreh (Persian spread complete with mirror, candles, cookies), grinding of the Kalleh Ghand (crystalized cones of sugar) and the couple fed honey to each other. Bjork's song 'Unravel' played at the processional gave me chills, and added such unique touch to the otherwise traditional ceremony. There was no sweeter & more amazing couple this February! They kept gazing at each other with such lovely feeling, that even all the baklava, sugar cones and honey dipped fingers fell short!
I had a pleasure of shooting with David Mielcarek, who captured a number of my fave shots! Here's a selection from both of us:

Warming up the winter months with Lila and Nick!

Winter weddings have this special "cozy" flavor to them. It's just fantastic to have a reception in warm, dimly lit room while it's cold and snowing outside. So was Lila and Nicholas' celebration. Set in picturesque Tarrytown, NY at the Tappan Hill Mansion it was a fabulous "season opener" for us! Monika Broz shot with me and - as always - delivered beautiful coverage. The below selection is a mix of our favorites:

Lila and Nick! It was wonderful to be a part of your day and start our season with the two of you! Thank You so much!

Engagement session, but this time... LIVE!

A few months before the end of the year I was quite convinced Emily and Peter's wedding would be the last one we were photographing this season. Indeed - it was, at least if you mean a whole wedding day...but we couldn't have anticipated what was still coming our way. I was contacted by Joshua only about a month before his planned event. When I found out we were getting hired to photographed an actual engagement session I thought it would be a wonderful way to end the season. The most amazing element was that the bride to be was completely unaware of what was going to happen. Joshua masked the whole operation with a family gathering. When Elisa arrived to see his soon-to-be fiance she wasn't in the best mood. Even the location was not what she really expected...but when the whole mystery was revealed and she was presented with a ring and THE QUESTION - her mood improved dramaticaly :) Well... I guess sometimes it's all right to justify the means with a spectacular end! The arena for Joshua's secret succesful suprise was the famous Oheka Castle in Long Island. Myself and Monika Broz had the pleassure to witness and capture this very special event:

Joshua - you are the master planner! Congratulations to both of you and once again thank you so much for having us over, a wonderful meal and great time all around!

"I married the man of my dreams on the most beautiful day..."

These were the actual words Emily said to me at the end of hers and Peter's wedding night. When we met for the first time, Emily described the vision of her wedding as "wintery and candlelit". With these words in mind I have envisioned the wedding day and prepared myself for low light shooting and...snowflakes :) Indeed, there were candles and there was snow. With a scent of magic in the air that accompanied us all day long both myself and Monika Broz delivered the following selection of images from the wonderful night at Alger House in Manhattan:

Emily and Peter - thank you so much! Your day truly couldn't have been more perfect! We had much fun working with both of you and meeting the families!

Joanna and Steve take Carrollcliffe!

The famous Castle on Hudson used to have a few different names throughout the ages. "Carrollcliffe" was the first one, then Axe Castle. The town of Tarrytown (NY) designated it as a historic landmark, protecting the outside structure from ever being changed. Today the Equus restaurant and General's bar, open to the public, occupy elegantly appointed rooms and an enclosed veranda with splendid views of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline. This magnificent location was Joanna and Steven's choice for their wedding celebrations. The three of us, including Monika Broz, David Lim and myself were there to capture the amazing "winter-Christmassy" atmosphere of the whole day!

Joanna and Steve! From all three of us - Thank You so much for an absolutely fantastic day. We couldn't have had more fun photographing your day!
