Great Adventure with Malena & Ryan, it sure was!

I was looking forward to this engagement session at Six Flags for a long time. Malena and Ryan are so super nice and just fun people to be around. Furthermore, Malena has very refined esthetic, that is reflected in her personal style as well as in her vision for the wedding (September of this year). The invitations they sent out are beyond fabulous, but stay tuned for this- it requires a separate post. Malena and Ryan didn't disapoint us, they showed up looking awesome, awesome, awesome! Nothing could spoil the fun, even the occasional security guard getting nervous at the sight of all our heavy equipment.

In the old good 'Mad Love' style we ended up shooting in the back of some building behind the water boiler:

Our couple of sharp shooters won that Tweedy:

There were casualties:

Someone we met that day, she was not afraid of David getting really close:

Malena & Ryan! Thank you for coming up with the idea to shoot at Six Flags, and providing so much inspiration!

Virginia is for Lovers!

Joe and Diana were wed in Charlottesville, Virginia, at a very charming Inn, called The Boar's Head. Besides fashioning antique trinkets, red velvet chairs, wooden beam ceilings and boar related paraphenalia this hotel's amazing scenery- green rolling hills, lake with bull frogs and rare botanical specimens- was truly something to admire!
Even though the sun literally fell on us from the sky, providing heat index reaching over 100 degrees of Fahrenheit, we stayed mostly indoors and had loads, and loads of fun. First, I tried to brave it outdoors, and get some shots of Diana's dress, but my camera lens fogged up in seconds, resulting in a lovely effect- reminding me of good ole' days playing with a pinhole camera:

A photo of a vintage portrait depicting their Parents after their Korean ceremony, isn't that fascinating?

Yummy desserts, and gift favour - custom designed honey.

Joe and Diana: thank you for this awesome opportunity to document your lovely wedding!

Blow your own trumpet Toot your horn - AGWPJA once again!

I am pleased, and delighted to announce that one of my images scored once again in a new AGWPJA contest. AGWPJA, or Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association is '... a group of international wedding photojournalists, who capture unscripted wedding moments as they happen, and excel in the art of post-production image processing. The [AG]WPJA is a division within the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA); one which specifically promotes Fine Art Wedding Photojournalism'.

This time it was in a 'Details' category. These fantastic, and probably delicious martinis were shot during Christy & Ryan's wedding at Pleasantdale Chateau last Septeber.

And these two images ( Rachel, and Juliana) scored quite highly in the AGWPJA contest last winter/spring!

Christie and John - nothing's gonna stop us now !

Weddings. Celebrations of a marriage of two people. Everything is planned, a beautiful ceremony, a festive reception, music, great food, friends and family invited. When you look at the big picture you could say so many weddings are similar, not so different from one another. Yet, there is something that makes every single one of them very special. People. People and their amazing stories. You can read more about Christie and John's story on Group of 10 BLOG (and see more images), we will not repeat the post here because we would like to present their wedding as a whole, starting with the bride getting ready:

...and through the fantastic session in the lobby of Hyatt Hotel in New Brunswick, NJ:

The dance at the end of the reception, again if you would like to know why it was so special please have a look at this post on the Group of 10 blog.

Christie and John - fighting severe weather forecast and medical inconveniences you have finished the day together with smiles on your faces, successful and happy. Congratulations to both of you from the bottom of our hearts, Thank You for this day filled with uplifting emotions and adventures that we will never forget !
